So, I decided to work from the inside out. I modeled the brain and then made the head around the brain. Funny thing, while I was figuring out the best way to get a brain, I got a terrible headache. Three attempts to make it. I think it looks pretty cool! Looks like it could be edible. Maybe strawberry flavored zombie wabbit brain, Yummy? ha ha… Food for thought.

This is a sketch I made a while ago when I was still in the character design class. The theme was a mild mannered zombie. What the heck is mild mannered??? I wondered, but was honestly a bit too embarrased to ask what it meant. Explanation for that is that English is not my first language so sometimes I don’t understand. Anyhow, back the the story I decided to look for the term ‘mild mannered’ in google search. To make things more interesting I searched in images. There is saw a bunch of rabbit photographs so I figured that probably rabbits are mild mannered. It also seemed like the safest way to go as it would appear that I knew exactly what ‘mild mannered meant’. I love the way it turned so I decided to develop it in 3D and maybe use it later for something else.
Here is the original sketch. I also posted the image planes that I am using in Maya. I started modeling it yesterday morning. Since some of his bones will be showing, I decided to make them first and then I will proceed to build the reabbit’s fuzziness on top if them.

I created this character today. I was inspired by the music I was listening to at the moment (Kent’s 400 slag). I don’t know what the song says, but the sound of it certainly inspired me to make this. I wanted to make a character for my next project. The animation will be the intro for a dvd menu. So I thought of having someone run through the woods as the camera follows him until he gets to the ‘Menu tree’.
Now, the look of my character falls under the ‘Emo’ label. I looked for the meaning of ‘Emo’ in Wikipedia. I do not think I fall under that label, I am too happy to be considered emo. I however love the clothing style as well as the ‘depressing’ music. One more thing is that the more I explore in search of my ‘own style’ the more I find myself in this category. So would that make me a ‘half emo’ hmm….
Anyhow, here’s my ‘emo’ character, hope you like it!

I can’t believe it is October already. So much for my dose of reality, this summer, one of the ‘memorable’ things I did was go pay a visit to the town’s ‘Herritage Days’. It was a rainy weekend and I was trying to raise a baby bird that had fallen from its nest. So we decide to walk down there, that way we get to see the crowd and maybe say hi to some folks we haven’t seen in a long time in case we happen to run into any… What people? as we walked into the confines of where the fair was supposed to begin we saw no one. We thought for a second that they had closed early because of the rain since there usually is a big crowd providing of course that it is nice outside. We finally sat down to enjoy a fried potato and a root beer. I love watching the crowds at fairs, but this time it was completely empty. Then I saw this young girl approach a trash can that was next to the bench where I was sitting. As she threw the empty container in the can we made eye contact. The image of this child at a deserted fair fascinated me. So, today I finally sketched out the girl that I saw and here is the sketch. I will add the background later, I am not feeling up to messing with perspective tonight.

I have added more detail to the model. I am starting to add the definition for the muscles of the figure, so here it is!

I brought the model into mudbox and started adding the definition of the muscles. Looks kinda weird but it also looks pretty cool, me thinks, so here it is.

This is a model I have been working on in the past few months. I just got back to it this past week. The purpose for this model is so I can get familiar with the human figure. I started with the body and then I moved on to the face. Here are some images of how the model looks in polygons as well as a subdivision surface.
